The Chute laboratory studies hematopoietic stem cells and the regulation of hematopoietic stem cell fate through the microenvironment, or niche. Our laboratory also studies the mechanisms that govern malignant transformation of hematopoietic stem cells to leukemia stem cells.
The Research Associate I will perform a variety of clinical specimen collecting, handling, transporting, processing, and storing protocols. Incumbent will need to operate crucial laboratory equipment to process specimens and assists, maintains, and organizes patients’ clinical electronic data files. This position is also responsible for keeping accurate and detailed records of clinical samples, data, maintains and supervises storage units, lab equipment, and stock of lab supplies. Incumbent observes laboratory safety standards and procedures. This role will be able to perform routine cellular, micro- and molecular biology procedures including, but not limited to Western, Northern blot, DNA/RNA, PCR, protein extraction, cell culture, Immunohistochemistry, and staining. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
