Goal 1: Improve the usability, development, and preservation
of the library's intellectual resources and services.
Access Services Objective:
Pursue new resources and technologies to support and improve access services.
Information Services Objective:
Create workspaces, tools, & support to accommodate a variety of learning styles.
Technical Services Objective:
Improve access to e-resources via the catalog & other linking mechanisms from a unified &
consistent workflow.
Goal 2: Assess, improve, and expand library-related
instructional activities and opportunities for our users.
Access Services Objective:
Evaluate the current role of Access Services in anticipation of the integration with the needs of
the Info Commons.
Information Services Objective:
Develop systems for improved user self-sufficiency.
Technical Services Objective:
Improve library catalog usability.
Goal 3: Improve and expand the culture of service provided by
the library staff.
Access Services Objective:
Fulfill users' expectations by expanding staff (incl. students) training; improve
communication/cooperation/collaboration within the Library & with Computing Services.
Information Services Objective:
Refresh our understanding of user needs & desires, and re-align services accordingly.
Technical Services Objective:
Inform & train other library staff in the latest developments in information acquisition & access.
